A Night in the Rushes - The photo prompted me to think about the rhythms of the shore, the inexact cycles of sound and light in the evening. I tried to reproduce this idea of irregular changes in frequency and pattern that become familiar when densely layered, and the suggestion of things seen in the water and surrounding gloom. I built this up using electronic and acoustic instruments on top of a pair of field recordings made in February, in a Kearney Village, near Portaferry on the Ards Peninsula.
